Active Military Banner Program

The City of South El Monte is proud to honor the brave men and women who are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces through the Active Military Banner program. The program is designed to honor, support, and express appreciation to South El Monte residents for their service and commitment to our nation and our community.

Eligibility

The designated honoree must be currently serving as active duty in a full-time capacity in the United States Armed Forces:

  • Air Force
  • Army
  • Coast Guard
  • Marines
  • Navy

The honoree must currently be residing in South El Monte or have an immediate family member (parent, spouse, child, or grandparent) residing in South El Monte.

Presentation

Banners will be displayed on poles along major streets in South El Monte. Each banner will list the name of the honoree and the branch of the military. Banners will be displayed from January through October. The banners will be returned to the applicant at City’s Veteran’s Day Ceremony.

The banners will be removed when the banner is damaged The City will not be responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged, destroyed due to sun, weather, age, vandalism, or any act of nature beyond our control such as high winds. Banners are subject to removal at the discretion of the City.

Cost of Banner

The cost to display each customized banner is $50.

How to Order a Banner

  1. Complete the Military Banner Recognition Program Application (PDF) available at the Senior Center and Community Center.
  2.  Include payment:
    1. Check (Made payable to the City of South El Monte)
    2. Visa or Mastercard (Credit card payments are accepted at City Hall located at 1415 Santa Anita Avenue or the Community Center located at 1530 Central Avenue.)
  3. Mail or deliver the form and payment to:
